A native of Rio de Janeiro and a researcher at the University of Oxford, Erika’s attention has been focused on the Amazon for the last 15 years, where she spends long periods in the bush, studying the behavior of forests altered by human action. Her biggest concern is human-induced fire, which alters the entire dynamics of the forest, sometimes irreversibly. Érika believes she has a solution.
